Neurodevelopmental Films

Neurodevelopmental Training Package - This package of training was developed by The Pines Multi Agency Neurodevelopmental training team in 2020/21.

These films can be watched to improve your overall understanding of Neurodevelopmental difference. However, the main purpose behind them would be for you to use them to impact on your assessment and planning for individual children together with The Neurodevelopmental Profile Wheel. This could be done by school and parents or in a wider Multidisciplinary team where necessary

This resource can form part of your holistic approach to meeting the needs of children who are experiencing struggles to create a profile of strengths and difficulties and create a plan of how they can be effectively supported in the school and home environment. Should the school and family then feel it is necessary a referral can be done to the NDAS team including this document in your referral.

Each film contains an overview of:

Presentation: What are you observing with your home/in your classroom?
Profile: Why might this be happening?
Plan: How can you support the child to make things easier?

These films can be watched to improve your overall understanding of Neurodevelopmental difference.

They should be used along with The Neurodevelopmental Profile Wheel to help plan the best strategies to assist individual children.
They can be used by parents, school or in a wider multidisciplinary team where necessary.
They are beneficial for all children with difficulties in any / all of the 6 areas of child development (social, communication emotional, cognitive, sensory, motor.)
They are also useful for children who show signs of neurodevelopmental differences (Autism, ADHD, Dyspraxia, language delay, learning delay/difficulty)- at any stage of the diagnostic process.
