The Neurodevelopmental Profile Wheel – Supporting your child before and after NDAS
The Neurodevelopmental Profile Wheel helps build a picture of your child’s strengths and challenges. The Wheel can be used by anyone looking to better help and understand a child. This includes those on the NDAS waiting list.
Today’s session introduces the Wheel and how to use the films and worksheet. Using the resources you will have a picture of what is happening with your child, why it may be happening, and what support can be put into place. The session will be led by members of the team who have created the Wheel in Highland: Laurie Morrison (Educational Psychologist) and Rachel Geddes (Autism Practitioner). Before attending, please watch this short (8 minute video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FJzcCez5Xo

Rachael and Karen have developed a programme called “NeuroExplorers” on this topic, this was trialled in numerous schools in the Spring of 2024. This programme will be accessible to all schools and families from the Autumn of 2024. Come along today to find out more. This session will still be valuable for you if your child is pre-assessment as it will give ideas for support. We look forward to seeing you online.

Safe Socialising and Esteem-Building - The Role of Technology in Neurodivergent Lives
Neurodivergent young people seem to flock to technology. In this session, John Watts, an autistic/ADHD man who owns and operates Inverness VR Experiences, will explore the reasons why tech has such a strong pull and explain how it can be one of our most impactful tools in helping our ND kids build confidence and connection. He will also answer the question “How do I get my child to turn off the console?”.
