SPOTLIGHT FOR DECEMBER

Dealing with Change

Neurodivergent children can find dealing with change very difficult as the challenges they experience with processing information mean the world can be a very confusing and unpredictable place. This change might be a big one - like moving house - or a smaller change like transitioning between activities at school. Any kind of change can cause anxiety, but there are things which you can do to help.

Welcome to the Pines website. We are a multi-agency team supporting children and families with Neurodevelopmental needs throughout the Highlands.

The Pines building was opened in 2009 to support autistic children and their families in the Highlands. It still offers the same service - housing a multiagency team of Highland Council professionals, NHS staff and third sector organisations, although the remit has expanded to support children with all neurodevelopmental conditions, before and after diagnosis.

Everything we do is underpinned by the Highland Practice Model
